On July 3 Pope Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Stuart R. Hall (63) a priest of Melbourne, Australia and Dean of the cathedral in Melbourne, as well as a Navy Chaplain to be the next Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Australia.
The arms he will assume, impaled with those of the Ordinariate, make allusion to academic institutions he has attended, as well as to the name Stuart.
The armorial bearings were designed by myself and Mr. Richard d’Apice and rendered very nicely by Mr. Sandy Turnbull.
As a sort of post script to the post on the appointment of James Peill, formerly Richmond Herald and Bluemantle Pursuivant, as the next Garter Principal King of Arms of HM College of Arms I post his personal arms impaled with those of the office of Garter.
On July 7 the Most Rev. Gary Studniewski (68) a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington DC was ordained Titular Bishop of Jamestown and Auxiliary Bishop of Washington.
On the same day the Most Rev. Robert Boxie (45) a priest of the Archdiocese was ordained Titular Bishop of Cataquas and Auxiliary Bishop of Washington DC.
Today, HM King Charles III, appointed James van Someren Peill, Esq., until now Richmond Herald, (appointed last May) and formerly Bluemantle Pursuivant, (appointed in 2024) to the office of Garter Principal King of Arms, after the retirement of Sir David White, KCVO.
