Thanks to the assistance of a friend who attended the ordination I now have images of the coats of arms of the other two new Auxiliary Bishops of New York. The arms of the Most Rev. John O’Hara is below and below that the arms of the Most Rev. Peter Byrne.
Good designs, also beloning to ‘the best ones’ in the designs of deacon Sullivan:
not overcrowded, no letters. And the crest of mgr. Byrne is even rather original with its combination of a Saint-Andrews cross and mill-sails. The result here is far more better than in the crest of bishop Sullivan from Camden.
It is only a pity that mgr. O’Hara did not do anything with his original family-crest. This shield is some that can be beared by every bishop.
But deacon Sullivan can be gratulated with these three results.
