One of my readers, Jorge Hernández Sánchez, from Seville who is also a heraldist has completed some 100 coats of arms specifically for ecclesiastical clients. He sent me quite a few of his creations. Many of them are wonderful examples of the coats of arms of prelates of various types below the rank of bishop. We see a preponderance of episcopal and archiepiscopal heraldry. I thought the 4th arms down which I assume is an Allusion to Douglas very fine. I think they are really good clear simple bold designs which is more often not the case. Would love to know who they are – or any rationale cor punning / canting arms.
